Recently Macdonald's Singapore unveiled it's newest member to it's burger family. The Rendang "Sedap" Angus Burger. It is launched as part of Macdonald's national day special burgers along with the Har Cheong Gai burger that was released about 3 weeks to 1 month ago. The rendang beef burger is essentially a burger with a angus beef patty dipped in rendang sauce, a whole leaf lettuce, caramelized and sliced red onions and topped off with a fried egg.
I have to admit the burger was quite messy to eat. Even just trying to take the burger out from the box to take a photo of it already proved to be a challenge. I feel that the amount of sauce that they gave was way too much to the extent that it compromised the integrity of the burger and made the entire burger mushy and hard to eat. I mean no one likes a soft and mushy burger. One thing to note though. The first time i opened the box, the smell that wafted from the burger was incredibly intense. It smelled like one thing obviously, RENDANG so if you personally are not a fan of rendang, i would definitely not recommend you to try this burger.
The rendang taste was not as strong as i was expecting it given the smell that was coming off the burger. The burger was overall quite decent but definitely not something i would order again. It's the kind of burger that you try once and once is enough. The set meal cost $8.95 in stores and comes with regular fries and a soft drink.
Note - The Rendang "Sedap" Angus Burger is now available at all Macdonald outlets and via either Grabfood or Macdelivery. While stocks last.
